ECBA Exec Board Meeting
Tuesday - Aug 26th
Keys Baptist Church
In 2007, ECBA was led to plant a Hispanic church in Tahlequah, the Monte Horeb Baptist Church. Along with other financial support, ECBA agreed to assist in providing meeting facilities for the church.
In June of that year, ECBA entered into a “Contract for Deed” to pay Elm Tree Baptist $70,000 for facilities on Cedar Street. Terms were $500 monthly (no interest) until paid in full, at which time the property is to be deeded to ECBA. The current balance was $34,000.
On Wednesday, June 11, Elm Tree Baptist Church voted to offer ECBA an option to pay off the contract with a $10,000 lump sum payment and forgive the remaining $24,000 balance!
On Monday, June 9, a Special ECBA Executive Board Meeting was convened during which board members gave unanimous approval to exercise this option.
With access to temporary funds, on Monday, June 16, ECBA gave ElmTree a $10,000 check and church representatives signed the property deed to ECBA!
ECBA is asking each church to receive a one-time offering toward the $10,000 to repay and replace the temporary funding.
Please send offerings to ECBA, indicating it is to be applied to the Monte Horeb property payoff..
Thank you for your prayers, participation, and support.
